Here are a few of our most commonly asked questions regarding our Sharia Junior ISA:
Can Grandparents open an account for their grandchild? Only if the grandparent has full legal parental responsibility for the child. Only a parent or Guardian of the child is permitted to open a Junior ISA Account on behalf of the Child. Once the Junior ISA Account is active, anyone including grandparents can contribute towards the account.
Is your Sharia Fund only available to Muslims? Our Sharia Junior ISA fund is available to everyone and not just Muslims. Many Muslims prefer to invest inline with the Islamic Investment Guidelines and we offer this fund as it also complies with Sharia law but it is not an exclusive fund and anyone can invest in it no matter what their nationality is.
What if the Child already has a Child Trust Fund (CTF)? If the Child already holds a Child Trust Fund then they are not eligible for a Junior ISA.
Can I Transfer My Child’s Trust Fund To A Junior ISA Account? At the moment, you cannot transfer a Child Trust fund to a Junior ISA. We are helping all we can to change this rule, please visit our Transfer my Child Trust Fund To a Junior ISA page for further details which also contains a link to the online petition on the HM Government website.
